The Influence of Education Using The Android Based Mom Smile Application on Pregnant Women’s Knowledge About Pregnancy Gingivitis
Abstract
Pregnant women are highly vulnerable to oral and dental diseases during pregnancy, one of which is gingivitis.
Problem: The high incidence of pregnancy gingivitis among pregnant women. This study aims to determine the impact of education
using the Android-based Mom Smile application on pregnant women’s knowledge about pregnancy gingivitis at Gayam Public
Health Center.Research Method: This is a quasi-experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected
through questionnaires, and the study involved 32 pregnant women who visited Gayam Public Health Center. The Wilcoxon test
was used for data analysis. Results: The study indicated that the average knowledge score of pregnant women before receiving
education through the Mom Smile application was 54.68%, which increased by 28.60%, resulting in a post-education average score
of 83.28%.This suggests that education delivered through the Mom Smile application has a positive effect on increasing pregnant
women’s knowledge about pregnancy gingivitis.
